Adjusted the training scheme for pets. There is now a Guaranteed Gain system as well as a greater chance to gain at lower levels of progress.
Pet training will provide feedback messages to give an indication of how much training experience is being gained ranging from slightly, fairly to greatly.
Reduced pet training stamina cap from 300 to 150.
Added Bushido & Ninja AIs to pet training options.
Pets can no longer cast summon spells with Mysticism AI.
Added Necromancy & Magery AIs to pet training options.
Added real time progress bars for pet training.
There is now a confirmation gump when adding magical abilities that will remove existing magical abilities.
Pet training will now update the pet slot for the pet the first time they are upgraded.

Essence of Wind
Increased the cost of upgrading base damage per second.
All pet damage is now reduced by 50% when targeting players.
There is now a power hour for pet training that will initiate once per day beginning when pets first gain in training progress for that day. This will increase the amount of training progress pets normally receive from a target.
The Najasaurus will now accept meat as a preferred food.
The Baby Tiger is now eligible for pet training.
Pets are now more responsive when issued commands such as “Kill” and “Follow.”
Resolved issue where creatures that utilized buff effects would have erroneous slot requirements.
Updated pet training progress percentages to be more precise.
There is now a warning gump when training a pet would increase the number of control slots it takes.
The Imprisoned Dog from Travesty can no longer be trained.
Pets will no longer gain in derived stats (HP, Mana, Stamina) with increases in Strength, Intelligence, and Dexterity if they already above 125.
This is an opinion piece, that is not based on any upcoming game changes.
It is going to be a great thing if the change to make Power Scrolls shard-bound goes through. Low activity shards will no longer be exploited for easy completion of champion spawns. Hopefully this will start to bring back the competitive spawning communities that existed before character transfers.
One complaint that is coming up now is the issue of shard transfer shields. They were added as a 14th year veteran reward. Once a month each shield gives you a free transfer token to the shard represented on the shield. The monetary advantage given by these shields is huge since it saves you $20 per month per shield.
Even before this proposed Power Scroll change, Shard Shields have been an ongoing complaint. With a very high threshold of having to achieve a 14 year account, not many can or ever will have access to them. If you are a very active intra-shard trader, the real money saved per month could be over $100 with half a dozen shields. And I've seen houses with 2 dozen in them!
If it were decided to remove Shard Shields from the game, or at least the character transfer tokens they give, then the people that own them would need to be compensated. I would like to see them leave the shields as a decoration. But if an owner was unhappy with the loss of functionality, then let them be recycled for another veteran reward pick.
If they are removed the expected outcome should be
People who don't like them will be happy, which should be the majority since most people don't own them
People who own them would be indifferent because they can keep them or turn them into another reward
Traders would be the most unhappy and would have to be more frugal on when to transfer between shards
Economic balancing is something the development team should look into now that gold duping has effectively been eliminated. By having Shard Shields as completely free travel between shards, you now have one gigantic economy instead of 2 dozen separate ecosystems.

Question & Answer Corner
What do we do if a code is invalid?
We have seen a lot of codes that are fraud lately, if you are not purchasing the code from Origin and use a 3rd party site then more than likely you are buying a bad code.
Are you still accepting castle designs?
Yes we are, you can draw it out on paper if you wish, suggesting different stone would be nice also. Different Windows etc.
A player on Siege asked for Frostwood and various other resources to be added to the merchant ships?
We will review all the loot on the ships when we revamp that system.
1. If you have an account that was terminated by CS over a year ago and would like to have it back please contact support here and give them the details and identify the account as yours, depending on the termination we will remove the restriction from your account so you may open it again.
2. All Sovereigns purchased from Origin have to be entered on the Account Management page. You can not enter these in game.
3. Anyone that is trying to reopen an account please make sure you send all the information to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can have a record of this. In the original request to support if you do not know your secret word please ask for a hint. Give them all the information to identify the account as yours so there will not be a lot of delays.
4. Anyone that does not get their codes from Origin please follow this link to resolve the issue..
7. Regarding Origin orders, codes, and third party resellers.
Recently some of the player base may have noticed that an Origin store purchase they have made did not arrive or complete as expected. A confirmation or code email has not been received and you are wondering what may have occurred with your order. The Origin store enacts reviews on all transactions to safeguard against fraudulent purchases, and these reviews may take up to 72 hours. Unfortunately our Billing department is not able to expedite or circumvent this process, however players who have questions or concerns regarding a store purchase can contact Origin support for assistance using the below link:
When prompted for a product, choose Origin. Next choose your platform, and select ‘Orders’ as the topic. You can further specify your issue in the subsequent fields before speaking with an agent.
We would also like to reiterate that the Origin store is the only guaranteed provider of codes for Ultima Online. The validity of a code purchased from a third-party seller (be it a friend, in-game acquaintance, or recommended site) cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, any codes we find to have be fraudulently obtained will be disabled and an account that applies any of these codes will have that code removed from said account. This can result in the loss of gametime, character slots, expansion access, Sovereigns (and the items purchased with them), in-game items and more. Please be advised that we cannot assist with any issues stemming from codes purchased via non-Origin means; you will be required to contact the vendor from which you purchased the code for further assistance.
To reset your password you must first understand which type of account you are resetting the password for. EA Accounts, Mythic Master Accounts, and Mythic Product Accounts all have separate individual passwords. All of which you can reset at your leisure at our Account Center at https://accounts.eamythic.com/. Unfortunately, Broadsword Support cannot assist with potential EA Account issues or passwords, please follow the steps below.
Locate the account you would like to update the card for
Select the 'Subscribe' button
Select the billing cycle you would like to use and continue
When you get to the page asking which payment method you would like to use, instead of choosing to add a card, select the 'Manage Accounts' option in the top right corner of the page. This should load a new page that will contain your previous credit card information.
Find the card you wish to update and select the 'X' button
You can now re-enter your credit card with the updated information by using the 'Add a card' button.
We are pleased to announce the first iteration of Publish 97 will be coming to TC1 later this afternoon! Included in this first release of Publish 97 is the much-anticipated pet revamp. Make sure you patch up to the latest client before heading over to TC1. We had several core goals going in to the pet revamp with regard to pets including,
Ensuring the Greater Dragon is still a viable pet for those that have and wish to continue to use them.
Allow greater diversity of pets that are effective by looking at their survivablilty and allowing animal tamers to customize their pets to increase survivability and variation.
Provide an in-game path to learn to use Animal Training with as much information as necessary to make Animal Training something everyone can have fun with.
In order to achieve these goals you can look forward to the following changes with pets,
Pets can now be trained beyond their current control slot requirements up to new maximums.
Train pets in endless combinations of special abilities, special moves, area effects and magic schools.
Customize skill caps and attributes to create new pet variants.
This is only the first iteration of Publish 97 and at this stage we want to concentrate on testing the Animal Training process. This includes the in-game path for learning about this new feature, as well as your experience with training pets, the results of customizing pets, and how those customized pets are balanced with the rest of the world.
This is just the first release of Publish 97, in future releases you can look forward to brand new creatures and rare pet color spawns! Look for more details on these creatures in our next newsletter.
For now, head over to TC1 and check out Animal Training! As always we look forward to your feedback.! We will be live on TC1 tonight to answers any questions you may have about Animal Training.
