It is a new year, a new decade in fact. So this is a great time to bring in a few changes on how the forum will function.
The first news is that the ban list has been cleared. As long as previous offenders follow the forum rules, then they will enjoy a nice and fruitful posting career.
Second, post approval has been disabled for the UO Atlantic forum. Anyone can have their posts instantly show up once again. Of course this means that there will be a lot more carelessness towards the rules so..............
Third, there is now an official moderation team for the forums. At the moment there are three people; Ngraskel-, Tanis, and Chucko. I will be teaching them to handle the forum moderation as I always have. So there shouldn't be much changes in the way of enforcement. However, with more eyes on the forum it means post reports and other moderation issues will be dealt with much more swiftly.
If you have any questions regarding forum moderation or general issues, you should private message them. If you are concerned with how they handled a situation then you should message me. However, I am not someone to complain to about you getting punished for breaking the rules. If you message me and I find the moderator acted appropriately, then you are likely to be in more trouble.
The forum has been updated to version phpBB3 3.0.6. Some notable features include the ability to report inappropriate private messages, new memory caching features to improve site performance, and dozens of minor bug fixes. Not all features (including private message reporting) are available yet. Style updates need to be made first.
